Hi, I’m Marcel, the owner of Isle Spice Kitchen.

Opening Isle Spice Kitchen is about much more to me than owning a restaurant. It brings together three things that are very close to my heart: Caribbean food, family, and creating opportunities for others. I wanted to create a place where people could enjoy the food and flavors that remind us of home—the kind of food that brings families together, creates conversation, and makes you feel welcome from the moment you walk through the door. But my greatest inspiration is personal. As the parent of a young person with special needs, I often think about the future and the opportunities that will be available to young people like my son as they enter adulthood. I know there are many parents who share the same hopes and concerns.

That is why part of my vision for Isle Spice Kitchen is to create a welcoming environment where youth and young adults with special needs can learn real-life job skills, discover their strengths, build confidence, and eventually have opportunities for meaningful employment. Sometimes something as simple as stocking a refrigerator, packaging an order, greeting a customer, or completing a task independently can create an incredible sense of accomplishment.

I want someone to leave here thinking, “I did that. I’m good at this. I’m part of the team.”That feeling matters. My hope is that Isle Spice Kitchen becomes known not only for delicious Caribbean food, but also for its heart—for being a place where people are welcomed, differences are respected, abilities are recognized, and everyone has an opportunity to contribute.

I’m building Isle Spice Kitchen one meal, one relationship, and one opportunity at a time.

Welcome to our kitchen. There’s a place for you at our table.
